Cinetic Landis Ltd has produced a Large Orbital Crank Grinder with development assistance from Cranfield Precision.
Cranfield Precision provided the CNC Control System, Finite Element Analysis services and Mechanical Design assistance.
The shear scale of this machine is impressive in its self but when you consider the accuracy it is capable of, it is in a league of its own. Grinding trials have achieved a roundness of 1 micron on Crank Journalls with in-process guaging.
